Jezra Matthews plus size model - Beauty With Plus interview

Instagram is such a great application as checking pictures does not require much time so I spend some time on a daily basis to discover new faces of the plus size industry. This is how I found Jezzy who is an aspiring model and beside her outfit posts I fell in love with the positive text messages she inspires her followers every day – including myself! She promotes healthy curves and confidence so it was time for me to get to know this beautiful lady.

Beauty With Plus - Cara Scott plus model

I spotted her charismatic face on the August cover of Venus Diva Magazine and after reading her interview I was sure: there is a certain PLUS in this gorgeous model which I am determined to find out. So I contacted her and agreed on an interview which was full of laughters, surprises and inspirational moments. My pleasure to introduce to you the newest supporter and member of Beauty With Plus community – Cara Scott model whose destiny is to be different!

Beauty With Plus - Napsugár (Sunshine)

I met Napsugár (her name means Sunshine) couple of weeks ago on  the casting of Miss Curvy&Hot Hungary for an upcoming plus size fashion show. The casting went well, every applicants arrived with a big smile and they were really friendly. Then the door opened and literally the Sunshine arrived: the girl with the biggest smile, love of life and energy. They say after experiencing the hell you can appreciate the good times more – and I can’t agree more when I think about this young lady who told the story of her life to me.  Before our meeting I somehow felt she would inspire many with her story and actually I was right: I was listening to her with a smile and sometimes with tears in my eyes.

 

I'm not pregnant - I am fat!

Sok telt lánynak ismerős lehet a kérdés illetve élethelyzet, mikor (főként ugye az alma alakúakat, nagy pocakkal) terhesnek nézik. A minap ezzel a "problémával" kapcsolatban kaptam levelet egyikőtöktől és gondoltam, a blogon is virtuális papírra vetem gondolataimat a témával kapcsolatban.

Many of the curvy ladies may have already experienced the situation (mainly the apple shaped ones with bigger tummy) when someone offers a seat as they think you are pregnant. The other day one of my readers sent me an email with this issue and I decided to put down my thoughts about this topic.

From time to time Dove comes out with a new campaign to promote positive body image which are usually really well-defined videos and ads. Some months ago I showed you the portrait-drawing ad (CLICK HERE if you missed it) and now there is another interesting piece to think about...

Időről időre a Dove előrukkol egy újabb kampánnyal, mellyel a nők szépségét s önmagunk elfogadását hirdeti. Én személy szerint kedvelem ezeket a videókat és hirdetéseket - jól sikerült daraboknak tartom. Pár hónapja a portré rajzolós kapmányukról írtam Nektek (KLIKK IDE ha lemaradtál róla) és most a cég egy újabb elgondolkodtató kisfilmmel jelentkezett...

Elfogadás // Acceptance

Manapság olyan nehéz elfogadni - na nem mintha ez időhöz vagy korhoz lenne kötve, de sokszor azt érzem, a környezet, a társadalom, a média, a trendek szinte lehetetlenné teszik, hogy nyitott légy. Hogy befogadó légy. Hogy elfogadó légy!

These days are so hard to accept things - not that this process should depend on time or era but I feel often impossible to be open due to society, enviornment, media and trends. Impossible to accept!

Forradalom...de milyen áron? // Revolution...but at what cost?

Amikor útjára indítottam a Pluszos Szépségek mozgalmat, a "forradalom" szót használtam azokban a bizonyos rövid videofelvételekben (a youtube csatornámon fent vannak katt ide) ami egy POZITÍV érzésekkel teli "lázadást" hivatott kifejezni. Azonban a forradalom akkor igazi, ha valamiÉRT és nem valami ELLEN jön létre. Bizonyos vélemények, hangoztatások és megszólalások kerültek mostanában felszínre internetes fórumokon, így gondoltam, tegyünk rendet a zűrzavarban...

When I started the Beauty With Plus movement, I used the word "revolution" in those short video footages (all up on my youtube channel, however early videos in Hungarian only click here ) which word was meant to express a rebel filled with POSITIVE thoughts. However, a revolution must stand FOR something and not AGAINST a thing. Some certain opinions, comments appeared on internet forums and pages which made me write this post and to put things to rights...

A sovány lányokat lelövik, ugye? // They shoot the skinny girls, don't they?

There more and more Facebook pages, blogs and forums for curvy women which is a fantastic phenomenon. I truly believe we must support and empower each other  - and most importanly, show the society that we are the same like anyone else, just in bigger clothes. Same...but do we need to be the same in each aspect? I don't think so...

Egyre több Facebook oldal, blog és fórum születik a telt lányokért/nak, amit remek jelenségnek tartok. Hiszek abban, hogy egymást kell támogatnunk, inspirálnunk és ami a legfontosabb: megmutatni a társadalomnak, hogy mi ugyanolyanok vagyunk, mint bárki más - csak éppen nagyobb méretű ruhákban. De valóban ugyanolyanok vagyunk? Remélem, nem mindenben....
