British Plus Size Fashion Weekend - I joined the team!

I am overwhelmed with emotions when I announce that I was requested by Remy Ray and Rianne Ward (founders of British Plus Size FashionWeekend) to join the team and be their Social Media & Communication Manager for the upcoming BPSFW 2014.

 

Óriási boldogsággal és túláradó érzelmekkel jelentem be hivatalosan is, hogy a Brit Plus Size Divathétvége szervezői, Remi Ray és Rianne Ward pár héttel ezelőtt felkértek, csatlakozzak mint Social Media és Kommunikációs Manager a 2014-es Brit Plus Size Divathétvége szervező csapatához.

 After the very first British Plus Size Fashion Weekend earlier this year - it is time to wipe off the dust of your suitcases and start preparing for 2014 BPSFW!

Loving Your Curves, Day 2

This Sunday morning was not like the others as the second day of Loving Your Curves event was particular among all plus size events: everything revolved around newly-weds-to-be. Honestly, it was hard for me to say objective as I got engaged in August so I was waiting for this day so much. Finding the right casual dress can be challanging for plus size but when it comes to the right wedding dress, it is really demanding. And all girls deserve to be and look special on the Big day – regardless of their weights!

Loving Your Curves, 2. nap

Ez a vasárnap reggel picit más volt, mint a többi, hiszen a Loving Your Curves rendezvény 2. napja különleges volt a plus size rendezvények sorában, mivel ezen a napon minden a jövendőbeli újasszonyokról szólt, vagyis kezdetét vette az esküvői nap. Bevallom, kevésbé tudtam objektív maradni, hiszen mint tudjátok, augusztus óta én is menyasszony vagyok, ezért különösen vártam ezt a napot, hiszen ha az öltözködés kihívást jelent egy telt lánynak, akkor ne is említsük a menyasszonyi ruha megtalálását. Mert a nagy napon mindenkinek kijár a királylányos külső, mérettől függetlenül!

 

Loving Your Curves, Day 1

Regardless of my tired travel body, on Saturday morning I jumped out of the comfortable (and huge!)  hotel bed like a child on Christmas morning. I was full of excitment and could not wait to meet the participants of the event as I was sure it will be a supportive and positive community waiting for me. And I was so right!

Loving Your Curves, 1. nap

Noha még éreztem az előző napi fáradtságot, szombat reggel izgatottan pattantam ki hotelszobám roppant kényelmes (és óriási!) ágyából, akárcsak egy kisgyerek karácsony reggelén. Izgatottan vártam a találkozást az esemény résztvevőivel, hiszen úgy sejtettem, ismét egy összetartó és pozitív közösségbe csöppenek majd. Nem tévedtem!

 

Loving Your Curves, London, Day 0

Ciao Bella,

A pénteki napom meglehetősen korán indult, hiszen hajnali 3-kor már az ébresztő könyörtelen hangjára ébredtem (hiába, Lana del Rey GreatGatsby betétdala az egyik kedvencem, de hajnal 3-kor nem hangzik túl kellemesen) s egy gyors kávé után már a reptéren voltam.

 

My day started pretty early on Friday as lets be honest, even Lana del Rey can't be gentle as an alarm at 3 am. After a quick kickoff Italian espresso I was already at the airport.

 

 

Loving Your Curves - interviews&video from the casting!

As the first day of autumn arrived it means we have to wait only a few weeks till the upcoming plus size event, Loving Your Curves taking place in London on 21-22 September. As an official European blogger I keep a close eye on the event and despite the distance, with some help I could make some mini interviews with participants at the model casting.

Megérkezett az ősz első napja ám ez azt jelenti, már csak pár hetet kell várni a Londonban megrendezésre kerülő Loving Your Curves plus size rendezvényre. Mint európai hivatalos blogger, érdeklődve figyelem az esemény küörüli előkészületeket s noha személyesen nem vettem részt a modell válogatáson, mégis sikerült némi segítséggel mini interjúkat készíteni a résztvevőkkel.

Moments, Part 2. Ruin pubs Budapest - feat. Jada Sezer (ps model UK)

Ahogy azt a korábbi bejegyzésemben ígértem, a budapesti kora-esti életképeket egy külön posztban osztom meg veletek. Jada velem töltött 5 napja alatt nem sokat pihentünk, hiszen szó szerint éjjel-nappal úton voltunk s mivel hallott az Európában egyedülálló budapesti romkocsmákról, nem hagyhatta ki őket.


As I promised earlier, I selected some early-nightlife pictures from Jada's Budapest visit to share in a seperate post. During those nearly 5 days which Jada spent with me in Budapest we hardly stopped - literally nonstop on the go. As she hear about the famous (and unique in Europe) ruin pubs of my capital, we had to visit a few.

Mivel a fekete-fehér verziókat már megkaptam a roppant tehetséges (és tündéri ember!) fotósunktól, Miklóska Zolitól - így miért is várnék a színesekre, inkább megosztok párat ezek közül Veletek Jada budapesti látogatásáról. Én egyébként is nagy fekete-fehér képrajongó vagyok - valahogy van egy sajátos hangulatuk és Zolinak sikerült nagyon jól elkapnia a pillanatokat.



As I already received the black&white shots of Jada's Budapest visit from the very talented (and such a sweetheart!) photographer, Zoltán Miklóska - I decided not to wait any further and show them to you. Anyway I fall for b&w pictures, they have a certain atmosphere and Zoli could really capture great moments with his camera.

 Izgatottan fogadtam el a felkérést, hiszen ez egy újabb lehetőség és alkalom arra, hogy minél több nőhöz eljusson az üzenet: telt idomokkal is szép az élet!

As announced earlier (check HERE if you missed it) I became the official European blogger of Loving Your Curves Wedding Fair and Fuller Figured Expo taking place in London, 21-22 September, 2013. I was thrilled to accept such an honourable duty to do in order to spread the words of positive body image and acceptance.

My mission regarding the event is to give more details about the background and participants - and who can be better as a kickoff person to be interviewed if not the lovely Kemi Farquharson who is the founder of the expo itself.

I joined the Cult (of California) - the galaxy dress

My biggest crush in London at the British Plus Size Fashion Weekend was on the upcoming galaxy pattern collection of Cult of California and right there the designer, Jen convinced me to try it on. Let me just say - from the moment since I zipped the dress, I was sure: I want it!

A Londonban megrendezésre került Brit Plus Size Divathétvége alatt menthetetlenül szerelmes lettem a Cult of California galaxy mintás darabjaiba. Jen, a tervező biztatására belebújtam a ruhába s minden eldőlt, amint felhúztam a cipzárt - nekem ez a ruha kell!

BPSFW Fashion Show, part VI. - Pauline et Julie, Cult of California

I kept some cherry on the top for the last post about my British Plus Size Fashion Weekend picture-diary: Pauline et Julie and Cult of California.
The French designers behind Pauline et Julie definitely have a fashionforward vision with combining materials and playful accessories. What I immediately noticed while their models rocked the runway was the pose how the gorgeous curvy ladies held their hands - see pictures below. I really liked mustard and black combinations - and my absolute favourite was the white dress - I can totally imagine myself in it. 
Their mission is to personalize trends while playing with accessories - and personally I liked the view how they do not want to design FOR curvy women but to offer stylish range of designs which are available in plus sizes. Here are the pictures:

A Brit Plus Size Divathétvége személyes kedvenceit a végére hagytam, így a londoni élményeim képes beszámolójának utolsó részében a Pauline et Julie és a Cult of California szerepel.
A Pauline et Julie márka mögött egy francia tervezőpáros áll, akik egyedi tervezésű ruhákat csempésznek a teltebb nők szekrényeibe- miket játékos kiegészítőkkel párosítanak. Már a divatbemutatón feltűntek a francia tervezők ruháit viselő modellek - érdekes kézfejtartásukkal kitűntek a többiek közül (lásd lentebb). Tetszettek a mustár sárga és fekete kombinációk ám az abszolút kedvenc a fehér ruha volt, bevallom el tudnám képzelni magamon!
Küldetésük, hogy egyénre szabják a legdivatosabb irányzatokat, miket hangsúlyos kiegészítőkkel párosítanak. Nagyon tetszett a filozófiájuk, miszerint is nem teltebb nőknek terveznek, hanem modern tervezésű, divatos ruhákat készítenek, amik elérhetők nagy méretben. Mindez pedig képekben:

True elegance spiced up with vivid colours - this could be my tagline for Carolyn de la Drapiere the British designer brand. When I watched those clothes on the catwalk - I saw some really belle of the balls amongst the models. I also learned that beside their existing pieces they do bespoke ones. As pictures speak louder than words, here we go:

Az élénk színek tökéletes eleganciával párosítva - így tudnám jellemezni a benyomást, amit a brit tervező Carolyn de la Drapiere ruhái keltettek bennem. Ahogy a modellek végiglejtettek a kifutón, némelyik ruha valódi bálhangulatot ébresztett és azt is megtudtam, hogy egyedi rendelésre és tervezésre is készítenek ruhákat. Mivel a képek többet mondanak minden szónál, íme:

British Plus Size Fashion Weekend offered a great possibility to socialize and make new connections within the plus size world, no matter which part of the globe. Before the event we became virtual friends with the lovely Dionna and since I heard about her plus size styling carreer, I wanted to make an interview with her. In London we changed virtuality to reality - which proved again to be even sweeter!

A Brit Plus Size Divathétvége kitűnő alkalom volt, hogy az oda látogatók új kapcsolatokra tehessenek szert - függetlenül attól, a föld mely részén élnek. Már az esemény előtt virtuális kapcsolatba kerültem az amerikai plus size stylisttal, Dionnával és mindenképp szerettem volna kifaggatni a munkájáról. Londonban alkalmam is nyílt erre - és a valóság újfent még édesebb volt a virtuális világnál, hiszen Dionna elbűvölően pozitív, energikus nő.
